Definition
算账 (suàn zhàng) means 'to do accounts' or 'balance the books' — the everyday word for bookkeeping. Unlike 结账 (jié zhàng, 'pay the bill') and 结算 (jié suàn, 'settle a financial account'), 算账 also has a common figurative sense: 'to settle a score' or 'get revenge'.
