纠缠 (jiūchán) means 'to be tangled' physically (e.g., hair) or metaphorically (feelings, problems). Compared to 缠 (winding/coiling), 纠缠 suggests a more complicated, messy entanglement. For the sense of pestering/nagging, 纠缠 implies persistent bothering about a matter, while 唠叨 (láo dao) is more about talking too much verbally.
