Definition
结账 (jié zhàng) means 'to pay the bill' and is the everyday term used in restaurants, hotels, and shops. It is more specific to paying than 结算 (jié suàn, formal/financial settlement) and avoids the figurative 'get even' meaning of 算账 (suàn zhàng).
