Definition
编写 means 'to write or compile' a work from scratch, such as a book, report, or software. Unlike 编, which can also mean 'edit' or 'fabricate', 编写 emphasizes original composition. And unlike 编辑, which focuses on editing existing material, 编写 implies creating new content.
