老人家 is a polite term for an elderly person, male or female, often used when addressing or referring to someone else's parent or grandparent respectfully. Unlike 老太太, which refers specifically to an elderly woman (or one's own mother/mother-in-law), 老人家 is gender-neutral and can be used for both men and women.
