Definition
脱口而出 (tuō kǒu ér chū) is a set phrase meaning 'to blurt out' — saying something suddenly and without thinking, often because of excitement or impulse. Unlike 漏 (lòu 'to let slip'), which focuses on accidentally revealing a secret, 脱口而出 emphasizes the spontaneous, unguarded nature of the speech itself, not the content being secret. It's different from 放过 (fàng guò 'to let off'), which is about missing an opportunity or not punishing someone.
