Definition
萝 is a bound morpheme (b.f.) that never appears alone as a word. You'll only see it as part of compound nouns referring to root vegetables (萝卜 'radish/turnip', 胡萝卜 'carrot') or certain creeping plants (菠萝 'pineapple', 藤萝 'wisteria vine'). It combines with 卜 (bo) to form the common word 萝卜, and with 胡 (hú) for 胡萝卜.
