行凶 is a verb-object separable compound (离合词) meaning 'to commit a violent assault, often with a weapon, possibly resulting in murder'. It is used in legal and journalistic contexts. You can split the verb and object to insert aspect markers, measure words, or duration, e.g. 行过一次凶 ('committed one assault'). Do not use a direct object after 行凶; instead say 对某人行凶 ('assault someone').
