Definition
褪 (tuì) is a verb with two main uses: colors fading (褪色) and animals shedding fur, feathers, or skin (褪毛). It can also mean to take off or slip out of clothing (褪下外套), though in that sense the pronunciation tùn is also common in spoken Chinese. The character is the same regardless of reading.
