视为 (shì wéi) is a formal, written verb meaning 'to regard as' or 'to view as', used in serious or academic contexts. It is more formal than 看作 (kàn zuò) and 当成 (dàng chéng), which are common in everyday speech. Unlike 认为 (rèn wéi), which expresses a personal belief or opinion, 视为 implies a deliberate judgment or classification.
