Definition
视野 (shì yě) refers to the literal field of view (what you can see) or figuratively to one's intellectual or experiential horizons. It differs from 视线 (shì xiàn, 'line of sight' — a straight line from eye to object) and 视角 (shì jiǎo, 'angle of view' or 'standpoint'). 眼界 (yǎn jiè) is a close synonym for 'horizons' but is more abstract and literary.
