Definition
认证 (rèn zhèng) means to officially authenticate or certify, such as verifying identity or confirming that a product meets standards. It is more formal and official than 认可 (rèn kě 'recognize/approve'), and distinct from 批准 (pī zhǔn 'approve/ratify') which gives permission for a plan, and 验证 (yàn zhèng 'verify') which checks accuracy without issuing a certificate.
