Definition
训 (xùn) means 'to train' (skills, often physically) or 'to scold/admonish' from a position of authority. Unlike 教 (jiāo) which is general 'to teach' knowledge or skills, 训 implies discipline or correction; and unlike 骂 (mà) which is harsh verbal abuse, 训 is a stern reprimand from someone in charge.
