Definition
证实 means 'to confirm or verify' by providing proof or evidence that something is true. It is more formal and fact-based than 确认 (quèrèn), which is a general 'confirm' for arrangements or information, and stronger than 肯定 (kěndìng), which can mean 'to affirm' but also 'to be certain' as a feeling.
