Definition
评委 (píng wěi) refers to a judge or member of a judging panel in competitions, contests, or evaluations (e.g., speech contests, talent shows). It is distinct from 裁判 (cái pàn), which is a referee/umpire in sports, and 法官 (fǎ guān), a judge in a court of law. 评审 (píng shěn) focuses on the evaluation process itself, while 委员 (wěi yuán) is a general committee member without the judging role.
