Definition
赴约 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to keep an appointment' or 'to show up for a meeting as promised'. The verb 赴 ('to go to') and the noun 约 ('appointment') can split apart when you insert a measure word, time duration, or verb complement between them, like 赴了一个约 ('kept an appointment') or 赴过约 ('have gone to appointments before'). The object of the appointment (e.g. a person) usually comes before the verb phrase using 和 or 跟.
