Definition
转学 means 'to transfer to another school' and is a separable verb (离合词). The characters 转 and 学 split when you add aspect markers, measure words, or other elements: 转了学 ('transferred'), 转过学 ('have transferred'), 转一次学 ('transfer once'). The school being transferred to is usually implied by context or stated separately with 到 ('to') — you don't put an object directly after 转学.
