Definition
轮班 means 'to work in shifts' or 'to take turns on duty'. It is a separable verb (离合词): when you need to add a time period, frequency, or object, the verb 轮 and the noun 班 split apart. For example, 轮了三天的班 ('worked three days of shifts') or 轮过两次班 ('took turns twice'). In normal usage, you can keep it together as 轮班.
