Definition
辽阔 (liáo kuò) describes the vastness of natural landscapes — land, sea, sky — and carries a poetic, sweeping feel. Unlike 广阔 (guǎng kuò), which can also apply to abstract scope, 辽阔 is reserved for physical expanses. 广大 (guǎng dà) often refers to large numbers of people or a broad area, while 宽广 (kuān guǎng) emphasizes width and breadth, like a road or room.
