Definition
过关 (guò guān) means 'to pass (a test/check)' or 'to get through (a difficulty)'. It is more colloquial than 通过 (tōng guò), which is formal and used for passing exams or legislation; 渡 (dù) is literary and used for enduring a difficult period. 过关 also retains its literal meaning of 'crossing a barrier' and is common in gaming ('pass a level').
