Definition
进入 (jìnrù) is a formal verb meaning 'to enter' a place or 'to join' an organization. It is more formal and often used in writing compared to 进 (jìn, HSK2), the common spoken word for 'go in'. Unlike 进来/进去 (jìnlái/jìnqù, HSK2), 进入 does not indicate direction toward or away from the speaker.
