Definition
进站 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to enter a station', typically used for train stations, subway stations, or bus terminals. It can split when adding aspect or measure phrases: 进了站 ('entered the station'), 进过站 ('have entered the station before'). The object (站) can be separated by 了/过 or other elements, but the verb 进 stays before the separator. When talking about going through the ticket gate, 进站 often contrasts with 出站 ('exit the station').
