Definition
This idiom literally means 'pressing against the eyebrows and eyelashes' — describing an urgent situation that is so close it's about to touch your face. You use it to say a crisis, deadline, or event is imminent and requires immediate action. Common in both spoken and written Chinese, often as a predicate (形势迫在眉睫) or an attribute (迫在眉睫的问题).
