Definition
逞强 (chěngqiáng) means to act braver or stronger than one really is, often taking on tasks one can't handle. It is distinctly negative, unlike the neutral 表现 (to show/display), and emphasizes reckless bravado rather than just showing off a skill (耍). The core idea is pretending to be capable out of pride, usually with bad consequences.
