Definition
逢 (féng) has two main uses: 'to come across (by chance)' and 'to fall on (a date)'. For chance meetings, 逢 is more literary/formal than the everyday 遇到/遇见/碰; it often appears in fixed phrases like 每逢 (every time). The literary sense 'to flatter' is less common than 捧 (flatter) or 捧场 (show support).
