Definition
重心 (zhòng xīn) has both a literal physics sense ('center of gravity') and a figurative sense ('main focus, core'). Among the siblings, 核心 (hé xīn) is the closest synonym for the figurative 'core' meaning, but 重心 emphasizes the point of balance or primary direction of effort, while 核心 stresses the innermost, most essential part. 中心 (zhōng xīn) is more general, referring to the physical or institutional center.
