长远 (cháng yuǎn) describes a long-range perspective or plan — it's about looking far into the future (长远目标, 长远利益). It differs from 长期 (cháng qī), which simply means 'lasting a long time' as a duration (长期合同). 长久 (cháng jiǔ) focuses on something being enduring and stable over time.
