问候 (wènhòu) is a formal verb for greeting or sending regards, often used in writing or respectful situations (e.g., '请代我问候你的家人'). It is more formal than 打招呼 (dǎ zhāohu), which is casual and can also mean 'to give prior notice'. Unlike 寒暄 (hánxuān), which refers to polite small talk as a social ritual, 问候 focuses on expressing good wishes or respect.
