阳性 is a technical noun used in medicine (positive test result) and linguistics (masculine gender). Its direct opposite is 阴性 (yīn xìng), which means negative test result or feminine gender. Do not confuse with 正面 (zhèng miàn, 'positive/constructive') or 积极 (jī jí, 'positive/proactive') — those describe attitudes, not test or grammar results.
