Definition
阴沉 describes two main things: weather that is overcast and gloomy, and a person's demeanor or character that is sullen, morose, or even quietly scheming. You often see it in the pattern 阴沉着(脸) for a sullen expression, or 性格阴沉 for a dark, calculating personality.
