Definition
雄性 (xióngxìng) refers to the male sex in non-human animals and plants (e.g., a male cat). Do not use it for humans — for a human male, use 男人 (colloquial), 男性 (formal), or 男子 (more literary). Its biological counterpart is 雌性 (cíxìng, female).
