颠倒 (diān dǎo) means 'to turn upside down' or 'to reverse order/position' — a physical or abstract reversal. It differs from 反 (fǎn), which is broader (opposite/contrary) and often an adverb/adjective, and from 疯/疯狂 (fēng/fēngkuáng), which refer to lasting insanity, not temporary disorientation.
