Definition
鲨鱼 (shā yú) is a general term for sharks, a type of fish. Unlike 鳄鱼 (è yú 'crocodile'), which is a reptile, and 鲸 (jīng 'whale'), which is a mammal, 鲨鱼 is a fish with a cartilaginous skeleton.
