Comparing 对 and 对于
Both 对 and 对于 mean "regarding" or "as for" and can be used interchangeably to introduce the topic of a sentence. They are placed before the object and are often followed by a comment or opinion.
对 has broader uses, including "to," "towards," and "for" in person-to-person interaction, while 对于 is formal and strictly marks a topic. Use 对 for giving gifts, showing attitudes, or directional meanings; 对于 does not work in those cases.
