Comparing 之间 and 中间
Both 之间 and 中间 mean “between.” Use 之间 in A 和 B 之间 for relationships between two specific things, and 中间 for the physical middle or a gap within a group or time sequence. A common pitfall is overusing 中间 for strict binary comparisons where 之间 is more precise.

之间 emphasizes a relationship between two clear endpoints; 中间 can refer to the middle of a physical space, time interval, or group.

- 明天早上我有两个考试，中间有20分钟的休息时间。Míngtiān zǎoshang wǒ yǒu liǎng gè kǎoshì, zhōngjiān yǒu èrshí fēnzhōng de xiūxi shíjiān.I have two exams tomorrow morning. There is a 20 minute break in between.
