Emphasizing quantity with 都

Use 都 to emphasize that a large group or majority all share the same action or quality. It is placed after the subject, which should be a collective noun like 很多人 or 大家; avoid using it when referring to a single individual.

Subj. + 都 + Verb + Obj.
Subject must be a large group or collective noun.

Examples

  • 很多地方有wifi。
    Hěn duō dìfang dōu yǒu wifi.
    A lot of places have wifi.
  • 我的很多朋友有车。
    Wǒ de hěn duō péngyou dōu yǒu chē.
