Expressing "enough" with 够

Use 够 before a verb or adjective to indicate that something is sufficient. The particle 了 is often added at the end for emphasis, but it's not required.

Structure

够 + Verb / Adj. (+ 了)
了 is optional, but adds emphasis

Examples

  • 我们买很多菜,
    Wǒmen mǎi le hěn duō cài, gòu chī le .
    We bought a lot of food. It's enough for us to eat.
  • 这些纸用吗?
    Zhèxiē zhǐ gòu yòng ma?
    Is this paper enough for us to use?
  • 放心吧,我带的钱花。
    Fàngxīn ba, wǒ dài de qián gòu huā.
    Don't worry. I've brought enough money to spend.
  • 我对你
    Wǒ duì nǐ gòu hǎo le .
    I've been good enough to you.
  • 别抱怨,你幸运
    Bié bàoyuàn le, nǐ gòu xìngyùn le .
    Stop complaining. You've been lucky enough.
