Expressing "in the name of" with "以... 的名义"

The pattern 以...名义 expresses that an action is done in the name of a person, group, or concept, often to invoke authority or justification. It is common in formal or written contexts. Be careful that the object after 以 is the entity under whose name the action is taken, not the agent.

Structure

以 + Obj. + 的 + 名义
的 is required between the object and 名义
