Expressing "in this way" with 这样

Use 这样 before a verb to express that an action is done 'in this way' or 'like this'. Be careful not to add extra words like 这 before 这样, as 这样 already contains the meaning 'this way'.

  • 这样做不对。
    Zhèyàng zuò bù duì.
    Doing it this way is not right.
  • 这样说不礼貌。
    Zhèyàng shuō bù lǐmào.
    It's not polite to say this.
  • 这样走过去更近。
    Zhèyàng zǒu guòqù gèng jìn.
    If you walk over this way, it's closer.
  • 你们真的是这样想的吗？
    Nǐmen zhēnde shì zhèyàng xiǎng de ma?
