Expressing "one of" with 之一

To express “one of” in Chinese, add 之一 (zhī yī) to the end of a noun phrase. The phrase often includes 最 (zuì, “most”) to say “one of the most …”.

Structure

Subj. + 是 + Noun Phrase + 之一
Noun Phrase often includes 最 (most)
Noun Phrase + 之一 + 是 + ...
used when the noun phrase is the subject
