Expressing "your side" with 本

In formal or written Chinese, 本 is placed before a noun to mean "this," "our," or "one's own." It identifies something as belonging to the speaker or the side they represent, like 本公司 (our company) or 本人 (I, myself). Note that this usage is limited to formal contexts and is not used in casual speech.
