Non-exhaustive lists with 等等

To express 'and so on' or 'etc.', add 等 (děng) or 等等 (děng děng) at the end of a list of items. Unlike English, you should not put a comma before 等 or 等等.

Do not place a comma before 等/等等.

  • 西瓜、菠萝、葡萄等等,我都喜欢吃。
    Xī guā, bō luó, pú tao děng děng, wǒ dōu xǐ huan chī.
    Watermelons, pineapples, grapes, and so on... I like them all.
  • BruceLi、JackieChan、JetLi都是功夫明星。
    BruceLi, JackieChan, JetLi děng dōu shì gōng fu míng xīng.

    Wǒ men gōng sī yǒu shì chǎng bù, shè jì bù, jì shù bù děng děng.
