Softening the tone of questions with 呢
Add 呢 to both options in an alternative question to make it sound softer and more deliberative, like you're weighing choices. This pattern turns a binary either-or question into a more thoughtful, polite inquiry. The most common pitfall is forgetting the second 呢, which can make the question feel incomplete or blunt.
Structure
Option 1 + 呢 + 还是 + Option 2 + 呢?
