Advanced 了 after an object
When the object is long or modified, 了 often goes at the end of the sentence rather than right after the verb. This placement emphasizes the whole event’s completion or the situation’s change. It's common with complex objects or when highlighting new information.

Subj. + Verb + Obj. + 了
Often used with long or modified objects, or to stress the entire action.
Examples
- 我上课了。Wǒ shàng kè le.I had class.
- 丽丽到火车站了。Lì li dào huǒ chē zhàn le.Lili has arrived at the train station.
- 我今天见老朋友了。Wǒ jīn tiān jiàn lǎo péng you le.I met my old friend today.
- 他提交那些报告了。Tā tí jiāo nà xiē bào gào le.He filed those reports.
- 我听说昨天在地铁站发生的事情了。Wǒ tīng shuō zuó tiān zài dì tiě zhàn fā shēng de shì qing le.I heard about what happened yesterday at the subway station.
