Advanced 了 after an object

When the object is long or modified, 了 often goes at the end of the sentence rather than right after the verb. This placement emphasizes the whole event’s completion or the situation’s change. It's common with complex objects or when highlighting new information.

Subj. + Verb + Obj. + 了
Often used with long or modified objects, or to stress the entire action.

  • 我上课
    Wǒ shàng kè le.
    I had class.

    Lì li dào huǒ chē zhàn le.
    Lili has arrived at the train station.
