推移 (tuī yí) — (of time) to elapse, to pass; (of a situation) to develop, to evolve

Definition

推移 highlights gradual change over time, of situations (局势推移) more than of time itself. For time passing alone use 流逝; for gradual development of a process use 演变 or 演化.
