一个劲 is an adverb meaning 'continuously, persistently, without letup'. It is used before verbs (with or without the adverbial marker 地) to describe an action that is done non-stop, often with a sense of stubbornness, relentlessness, or impatience. Note the tone sandhi on 一: when followed by 个 (fourth tone), it is pronounced yí.
