Definition
上车 is a separable verb (离合词) composed of 上 'to get on' and 车 'vehicle'. It means 'to get on or into a vehicle'. When adding tense markers or measure words, you can insert them between the two characters — for example, 上了一辆车 ('got in a car') or 上过车 ('have gotten on before'). You do not add a separate object; the vehicle is part of the word itself.
v.o.
