Definition
主办 (zhǔ bàn) means 'to organize/host' as the primary entity responsible for an event. It is more specific than 举办 (jǔ bàn), which simply means 'to hold/conduct' any event, and differs from 承办 (chéng bàn), which means 'to undertake' organizing on behalf of someone else. 主办 is often used with 由 to indicate the organizer.
