Definition
久违 (jiǔ wéi) is a set phrase used when you meet someone after a long time ('long time no see') or when you haven't experienced something in a while. It differs from 久仰 (jiǔ yǎng), which is an honorific said upon first meeting someone you've long admired. 久违 is always followed by 了.
