交易 (jiāo yì) is a general word for 'trade' or 'transaction' — it can be both a verb and a noun. It's more formal and broader than 买卖 (mǎi mài, colloquial buying/selling) and different from 办理 (bàn lǐ, which focuses on handling procedures) and 贸易 (mào yì, which refers to large-scale or international commerce).
